Current Studies
At USC Fertility, clinical studies are always underway as we are dedicated to finding new and responsible ways of solving reproductive health issues to help our patients build families. Please take a moment to read about the current studies listed below, and feel free to contact us should you be interested in learning more about the study, joining the study, or applying study learning to your own medical treatment plans. We invite you to visit this section of our site frequently to view new clinical study postings. Prospective trial of oocyte cryopreservation Ongoing trial to determine viability of frozen eggs and subsequent pregnancy rates in a cohort of women < 35 years of age with tubal factor infertility. The effect of oocyte cryopreservation on lipid peroxidation and production of radical oxygen species Study to investigate the extent of oxidative damage to oocytes following cryopervation and thawing. Does hCG increase VEGF production in an endometrial explant model? Endometrial receptivity is one of the least understood aspects of fertility. We believe that human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), one of the earliest products secreted by the human embryo, may play an important role in establishing implantation. We hypothesize that the addition of hCG to an endometrial explant model will increase the production of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), a maker of endometrial receptivity for implantation. Fertility preservation in cancer patients Collaborative project to better define the effects of cancer therapy on ovarian function and to implement methods to preserve oocytes including oocyte cryopreservation, in vitro maturation, and ovarian cryopreservation. Parenting among women in their fifties To compare parental stress, competence, and satisfaction between women in their fifties and a younger cohort conceiving with in vitro fertilization. | |||||
